Oral hygiene in Mill Creek, Washington, is extremely important, especially if you want to have a strong, healthy, and beautiful smile. However, it’s only effective if you have the right techniques included in your daily routine. To help you have the best oral hygiene routine possible, our Mill Creek General Dentistry team recommends doing the following things:

-Brush: Brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes each time. As you brush, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Make sure you thoroughly scrub each tooth and you spend the same amount of time scrubbing each quadrant of your smile.

-Floss: Flossing will help you remove the plaque between your teeth, which is why it’s best to floss your teeth at least once a day. When you floss, use a product of your choice but be careful as you clean along the gumline. If you are rough while you floss, your gums can become damaged.

-Rinse: Rinse your mouth daily with beneficial mouthwash, such as antibacterial or fluoride mouthwash. Rinsing will complete the smile-cleaning job, freshen your breath, and nourish and strengthen your teeth.

-Visit your dentist: Keep up on your six month checkups. These appointments are vital because they are the only way to completely remove the plaque from your teeth. If you delay your dental visits, the plaque can continue to grow on your smile and begin to create tooth decay and gum disease.
